5 Mindset Hacks To Help Improve Yourself

As the year 2023 is coming closer and closer to an end, I’d like to give you some mindset hacks to take with you into the new year.

You know, people say all the time that they want to achieve their goals and make a change in their life, but I find it hard to believe because of the mindset they operate from.

People sit around and just wait for some magical moment where they feel like doing something with their life, when really, everything changes when you set your mindset in the right direction.

This is why one of the favorite affirmations that I tell myself is that “I am capable of anything I set my mind to”, just because this helps me reach endless potential, no matter what is in front of me.

So, as a personal development girlie, I want to share with you some mindset hacks to help improve yourself!

Table of Contents:

1. Your past teaches you lessons

I have old journal entries from years ago on the experiences that people have put me through in my life. Some that caused trauma and some that I never understood why it had to happen.

Not going to name names, of course, but when I re-read these journal entries, you can tell how p*ssed off I was. I was upset, furious, and truly felt like the world was against me in those times. I remember the moments where I cried myself to sleep and the dreadful feelings that I was put through.

Now, it’s probably been about five years or more since then, as I’m writing this blog post. It wasn’t until years had to go by where I realized why I had to go through the things I went through.

In my personal opinion, it was to become a healer; someone who can uplift people. I needed to go through those experiences to teach people the things that helped me get through my dark times. After all, people need to hear advice from someone who can relate to them and oh boy, have I learned a lot of lessons from my past.

Once I found out the lessons and stepped into empowerment, I find myself really happy and grateful for those experiences, as well as the people who have put me through a living h*ll.

Yes, yes, I know.

That seems pretty hard to believe when you’re in the middle of a sh*t show, but hear me out.

Your past teaches you the lessons you need to learn in order to evolve and uplevel your life. Life is going to throw you many curveballs and you’re going to need to be prepared for what is going to be thrown at you.

After all, you wouldn’t want to step out into a battlefield without armor, right?

The same concept goes for the lessons you learned from your past. Even though it may take time, find the benefits of what the past taught you and transmute your experiences. Use your past as your armor and let yourself build a thicker skin.

Turn that trauma into f*cking gold, aka, empowerment.

2. Embrace the chaos

You know that saying where there’s always a rainbow at the end of a storm?

I find that every time some kind of chaos happens, and I get through it, I level up my life.

Keyword: get through it.

Some people let chaos get to them and let it dictate their life, when really, we need to learn to embrace chaos because that’s where the most personal growth comes from.

Unfortunately, not everyone cares to learn from their failures nor do they care about improving their life. But, if you’re reading this post, chances are you want to take your personal development journey to the next level.

My advice: embrace the chaos and whatever gets thrown at you.

Get comfortable with the uncomfortable, learn from your mistakes, love your failures, dance with your f*cking demons, or whatever it is you are going through.

I promise you that in those moments, you will find true strength.

You will start to feel unstoppable.

3. Enjoy the process

From someone who has accomplished a lot of goals in her life, I know that I always want to thrive for more.

And this is normal.

I know people say we should be grateful for what we have, which is true, but there’s nothing wrong with wanting to reach your maximum potential. After all, you get this one life to live, so who really wants to live a life of mediocracy?

I advise that you thrive for the best for yourself, but don’t forget to enjoy the present moment. Enjoy the process because eventually, you’ll find yourself getting used to the results and wanting to thrive for better.

At least with this mindset tip, you’ll teach yourself patience and discipline when it comes to reaching your goals.

This is part of practicing mindfulness.

4. Look at life as a game

You don’t need to be a massive gamer to see that life is a game and others just know how to play it well.

So, while you are on this spinning rock floating in space, why not make it fun?

Look at life as a game.

For me, I love to look at life as an RPG game where I gain experience points in my skillsets and go on many different quests to level myself up. I give my character a glow-up and turn her into a total bad*ss, while enjoying my adventures and gaining cool equipment out of it, which for me, makes me think of material gains.

You get the point.

Instead of complaining about life and how it is just so unfair to you, have fun with it and find ways to get better at playing the game.

5. Mix pleasure with pain

One of the main reasons why people avoid doing hard things is because they don’t want to experience the pain that goes with it.

For example, many people dread the idea of working out, but if you make working out fun, you’ll be more willing to go through with it. Sometimes, if I don’t feel like jamming out to music, I’ll listen to a podcast that I held off just for my workouts.

Let’s say you are studying something, whether that’s something in school, or maybe learning a new language or skill. Make it a pleasant experience that resonates with you.

In fact, I’m in the process of learning and becoming certified in Human Design. In short, Human Design is basically a blueprint of your life, based off of when and what time you were born, and how you best operate in the world. I find that we all truly learn and collect information differently.

Some of us like to be alone and in our own world while others are better in groups and love bouncing ideas off of each other.

Some like to have a pleasant environment that looks or smells amazing, some like to be multi-tasking while learning information, some just like to be more hands-on, and the list is endless.

Stay tuned for more Human Design talk because it has been quite fascinating to learn!

In conclusion, we all have a specific way of learning information that is pleasant to us. You just have to find your way of enjoying those hardships!
