We’re in a world now where trusting our inner knowing and following our intuition is the most important thing we can do for ourselves.
Social media is fake, news can’t be trusted, and people receive their information through Tiktok videos and believe it far too easily.
It’s like less people are even tapping into the gift of our inner wisdom: the part of us that makes decisions based off of our inner compass.
This is where our Human Design authority comes in.
Before I even discovered my Human Design authority, I always made decisions based off of what others were telling me. I figured maybe these people knew more than I did.
And when I discovered more about how my human design worked, it was no wonder I was getting NOWHERE in my life. I found out that I was doing things wrong the ENTIRE time.
The moment I found out about this, I switched up how I made my decisions and have created WAY more results in my life: from attracting people who want to work for me, more traction to my content, ideas for digital products, navigating relationships better, and plenty of more opportunities that I wouldn’t have gotten if I hadn’t known my authority type.
I feel that this portion of our energetic blueprint is one of the most important aspects of ourself that we should pay attention to.
So, let’s talk about it.
Your Human Design authority is basically your innate way to make decisions that aligns with your authenticity and your Higher Self.
It’s based off of how many defined centers you have in your Human Design chart and which ones are defined.
The Human Design authorities are separated into seven authority types: emotional, sacral, splenic, ego, self, sounding board, and lunar authority.
Of course, even if you have the same human design type as somebody else, you may differ with different human design authority types.
For example: projectors can fall under the category of multiple different authorities while someone that’s a reflector only falls under one authority, which is having a lunar authority.
Now, let’s talk more about how to manifest using your human design authority type based off of what you fall under.
The emotional authority is the most common authority type to have and it actually makes up more than half of the population on this planet!
I, too, am an emotional authority.
Look, here’s the problem that people with emotional authorities run into: we make decisions FAR too quickly without letting ourselves ride the emotional wave.
I mean, can you imagine being in a profession where you have to make decisions quickly?
No wonder our world is ran by crappy leaders!
Having an emotional authority is one of those authority types that need to sleep it off or wait to make a decision, instead of flying off the seat of our pants!
I’m sure many can relate to this, but have you ever come across in an argument with someone and you found yourself saying the wrong thing or find yourself saying something that maybe you don’t mean?
If only you had waited to reply to someone or didn’t send that text right off the bat, you might have come up with a better answer or solution to the argument.
That’s the thing with being an emotional authority. You have to achieve the level of emotional mastery by allowing yourself to respond in a place of neutrality.
That means you aren’t feeling heated in the moment, but also not in such a depressive state of mind.
Some of my favorite ways to cool off is working out, journaling, or honestly, just getting grounded on a walk or in nature. So, that way, when I come back to the situation, I’m A LOT more level-headed.
If only more people did this, I think we would find less people making explosive rage bait on Tiktok or other social medias. It’s best to practice some emotional intelligence when you are someone with an emotional authority.
If you have a sacral authority, that means you’re going to follow what your gut tells you.
You know about having that “gut feeling”?
That’s how you’re going to go about with your decision-making.
So, it’s really important for you to feel it out in your gut.
For example: have you ever had a “bad feeling” about someone? Maybe you felt a little ill around them or like something just stab you in the gut?
Something like this is a HUGE red flag and should be paid attention to.
But, let’s say something makes you feel light as if a weight has been lifted. This can indicate that making that decision will benefit you and literally lift the burden off of you.
Having this authority also means getting really in-tuned with your body, so make sure to pay attention to your body and how it works!
If you have a splenic authority, you may come across with some “intuitive hits” when it comes to your decision-making.
It’s like having clair cognizance, where you just know something is right for you.
This type of authority can happen quickly, since our intuition is like having a small, quiet voice.
So, it’s best not to overthink about your decisions.
Here’s the thing with listening to your intuition: it’s usually the first thing that comes to your mind and sometimes, it can be hard to explain why that is considering our intuition doesn’t make any sense.
Basically, our intuition’s job is to take us to the next step, not tell us about the whole destination.
This human authority type may need to do activities like meditation or honestly if I were to have this authority type, I would have a “f*ck it” attitude and just go for it to see what happens.
As long as you aren’t hurting yourself or other people, what’s the harm in taking that leap of faith?
Ego authority, I feel, is probably the trickiest authority to have, especially when our ego likes to stick us in fear mode and prevent us from taking a step forward when things are for our highest good.
Here’s the thing with the ego authority: the ego that prevents you from moving forward and keeping you in a fear mindset is in your head, but the ego that you want to follow in your decision-making is in your heart.
The ego authority is based off of your heart’s desires.
The ego in your head is just there to keep you safe from actual, physical danger.
So, with this ego authority, you’ll want to speak it into existence. It’s almost like what you say will manifest or at least, get the gears in motion.
Even questioning your desires can help you figure out what the best decisions are for you.
One of the tips that come to mind is playing the “why” game.
Like, why do I want this?
Why am I afraid of going after this goal of mine?
Why do I think this way?
Anytime you run into a problem with something you want, ask yourself why that is and usually, you’ll get to the bottom of why you want what you desire!
If you have a self authority type, then I wouldn’t be surprised if people claimed that you were “selfish” or “stubborn” with your choices in life.
My husband has this type and he gets called stubborn all the time and all I can do is laugh because he is literally just following his authority type.
And the best part of it all is that it usually works out the better and then people around him get shocked about it.
This authority type has to get REAL rooted in who they are and what they want in life. You make decisions based off of what YOU want and not what others tell you to do.
This can be a challenge, since I know people want to nail in our heads that thinking about ourselves is “selfish”, but many of them don’t realize that people who follow their authority can help benefit the people around them.
Now, if you are someone that isn’t too rooted into your self-image, you can also try to console with someone you trust and knows you WELL, like a spouse or a best friend when it comes to making a decision.
The key with this is to not seek advice, but have an ear to listen to, so that way, you aren’t relying on the people around you too much to make a decision because that would defeat the purpose of using your self authority type.
Just like the name implies, people with a sounding board authority are literally going to act like sounding boards.
That means, you’ll be making your decisions based off of your environment and the people around you.
Now, let me set something clear: you need to have a trusted group of people or a trusted friend or partner when it comes to having this authority type.
I know this authority sounds like a crap deal, but I promise it’s no different than bouncing off ideas off of one another.
Now, if you don’t have anyone you feel like can resonate with what you are trying to decide, I always recommend finding people who have done it.
Look, I know I have called out social media for its bulls*t, but if you zero in on a specific niche or topic, using social media can be beneficial.
Just make sure you are not overstimulated and you come from an environment where it’s not chaotic or where you feel pressured in the moment.
This is why it’s called a lunar authority: because you flow with the cycles of the lunar phases.
However, since that means your decision-making can be different every day, so here’s how to get past this if you need to make a decision quickly.
Act like the people with the sounding board authority and bounce ideas off of people you trust to flow through your choices a little bit more quickly.
Human design readers will say to wait a full 28 days, but I understand that it isn’t always doable if you are on a time crunch.
That’s why, it’s best to be around people you trust and respect, so that you aren’t being steered on the wrong path!
