Easy Ways To Start Rewiring Your Belief System

I wanted to start off this blog by asking you a few questions about this magical world we call life.

First, I want you to sit back and think about the areas of your life that you wish to change. This can range from how you look, what kind of habits you have, where you work, etc.

Now I want you to think of the things you wish to change. For example, let’s say you want to be fit. What kinds of thoughts run through your mind when you think about being fit?

If your thoughts start to have resistance to it, it’s time to rewire your belief system. If you thought to yourself, something along the lines of, “I don’t have time to workout.”

“I don’t know where to start.”

“Working out sucks.”

“Healthy food is expensive.”

These thoughts are what your subconscious mind takes in and creates the beliefs that you can’t lose the weight. You end up creating too much resistance around the idea that you can’t lose weight.

When it comes to the way you live your life, many people don’t realize how much they are programmed with limiting beliefs. This mainly stems from how we grew up.

From the time we were born to around seven years old, our subconscious is like a sponge. We take in pretty much most of our surroundings. Those experiences and conversations we hear follow us into adulthood without us even realizing it.

So with people who are either bad with money or have a hard time spending money, there was probably a time in your life where your parents either struggled with money or they were not good with finances or were very, very frugal. Your belief system ends up thinking that money is scarce, there isn’t enough for everyone, and the list goes on...

In order for us to get past these limiting beliefs, we need to put in the work to rewire them. Your subconscious doesn’t actually know the difference between what is reality and what is fantasy. So like I gave the example about losing weight, if you start to look at yourself in the mirror and imagine yourself having the body of your dreams, your subconscious will start to believe it.

You end up creating less resistance at the idea of losing weight and you will start to find yourself taking steps towards your dream body goals.

Eventually, you can apply this to all areas of your life and really improve yourself to become the person you want and live the life of your dreams!

So, how do we do it?

There are many different ways we can change our limiting belief systems, but I will only be talking about the ones that I have personally experienced that have worked for me. We can have a discussion on other methods in a later blog post. For now, here are some easy ways you can start to rewire your belief system:

1. Affirmations

Affirmations are basically just phrases that affirm to you what you desire. Some people have a difficult time with this one because they start to focus too much on not having it.

The goal is to say the affirmation, feel it, believe it even for a minute, and move on with your day. The purpose is to make this a habit. You won’t end up changing your belief system right off the bat when you first start affirmations.

If you can sit in moments where you have to pretend to be nice and respectful to someone, whether that’s a family member, your boss, whatever, then you can sit there for a few minutes and pretend to believe and feel whatever it is your affirmation is.

Another way I have taken in affirmations is by writing sticky notes and sticking them all over places that I will see it.

So I have like three sticky notes on the wall of my bed where I will easily see it when I go to bed and wake up in the morning. I also have some posted on my laptop when I do work. I will have no choice, but to see these affirmations.

This is a great way for people who forget to practice affirmations and are more visual learners. Don’t worry if you don’t say the affirmations out loud if you go this route because your subconscious will take it in anyways. 

2. Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a great and easy way to start to rewire your belief system for deep change.

Now, I’m not a hypnotherapist so I have to speak from experience. From my experience, hypnosis has been one of the most effective ways that has helped me rewire my limiting beliefs.

Hypnosis puts your mind in the relaxed, trance-like state (also known as the theta state) where it bypasses your conscious mind and taps into your subconscious mind. From there, you will be able to change your belief system on a deeper level.

You will have to find what works best for you. I personally LOVE sleep hypnosis because I can do it when I go to bed and it’s super easy for me to implement it into my nightly routine.

Some reputable recommendations I have found that were great in my experience are Michael Sealey and I heard another great one is Jason Stephenson. You can find them both on Youtube and find in the comments that other people have also had great experiences with their hypnosis!

3. ETF (known as Emotional Freedom Technique)

EFT (also known as emotional freedom technique) is another great and easy way to rewire your belief system.

Basically, the whole point of EFT is to tap onto the meridian points of your body. These points are where your body energy flows and when your energy flows smoothly throughout your body, you will feel more restored, less stressed, and most importantly, less resistance to rewiring yourself.

4. Visualization

We all love to daydream right?

I’m sure we have sat there and daydream about what it would look like to be rich.

What would it look like to be fit?

How it will feel like to be in love?

Visualization is great because not only do you get clear about what we want but also we bring in the feeling of having it. This works the exact same way when it comes to rewiring your belief system.

The time where it is best to visualize is generally when you are in flow state or when you start to enter theta state, which I have talked about before earlier in this blog post.

The best time when you enter theta state is when you go to sleep and you feel yourself just about to enter into a deep sleep. This is one of the best times to start rewiring your beliefs and imagining your dream life.

What is flow state?

Flow state is the feeling where you are fully immersed into something. This happens when you are doing something you love like a hobby.

It happens when you are driving especially when you go through the same route over and over again.

Maybe it happens to you when you are doing something more mundane like dishes or folding laundry. Whatever helps put you into flow state is the best time to start changing the way you think as well as manifestation.

During flow state, I love to visualize how well I speak to people because I want to be able to speak in front of an audience and be interviewed on podcasts.

Most importantly, when you are visualizing, you need to feel like you already have it. You can’t be sitting there and hoping it will just work out without truly believing that it is yours already.

That’s the key here: to feel like you are already there.
